Our journey to Wilgamuwa began with a scenic drive through Matale and Raththota. We chose the route through Raththota to reach Riverston, a decision that rewarded us with breathtaking views.
The road to Riverston is narrow but incredibly picturesque. This area is part of the Knuckles Mountain Range, offering some of the most stunning vistas in all of Sri Lanka. As we ascended, we were greeted by mist-covered landscapes, blue-green mountain peaks reaching for the sky, and dense forests stretching endlessly.

Lalan Leisure Villa in Riverston
On another trip to the enchanting Riverston area, we had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Lalan Leisure Villa. This charming bungalow, nestled amidst lush tea and rubber estates, offered us a serene and picturesque retreat.
The villa is a grand manor house that has been upgraded and modernized, preserving its original colonial ambiance while adding luxurious touches. Spacious bedrooms with massive ensuite baths, a swimming pool, expansive manicured gardens, and luxurious living spaces with modern facilities make this bungalow a perfect getaway.
